With more than three decades of experience in elementary education, I bring a deep understanding of how young learners think, grow and succeed. As a National Board Certified Teacher and Miami-Dade County Public Schools Teacher of the Year, I have spent my career helping elementary students build strong academic foundations while developing confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
My approach combines focused, engaging instruction with purposeful structure so students can learn efficiently while maintaining the flexibility their schedules demand—particularly young athletes and other highly committed students.
MURmentum is designed specifically for elementary-age students whose families are looking for a more flexible educational experience. I work alongside students enrolled in virtual school, homeschool, or other parent-selected educational programs—helping them navigate their coursework, strengthen skills, stay organized, and make meaningful academic progress.

I understand balance from every side—as an educator, an athlete, and a parent.
For more than three decades, I have worked with elementary students and families while maintaining the highest expectations for academic achievement. As the parent of two former competitive athletes, I also experienced firsthand the challenge of balancing the demands of traditional schooling with training and competition. And as a Team USA athlete myself, I understand the discipline, commitment, travel, and sacrifice required to pursue excellence in extra-curricular activities.
MURmentum grew from a simple belief:
Families shouldn’t have to choose between educational excellence and extraordinary opportunities.
MURmentum is not a school or virtual-school provider. We work alongside a student’s existing educational program, providing structure, instruction, academic support, and experienced guidance needed to help each learner succeed.
While we have a special understanding of the demands of young student athletes, our services are not limited to athletes. We welcome students and families navigating a variety of non-traditional educational paths. Whether a student’s schedule is shaped by athletics, the arts, travel, personal pursuits or simply the need for a more flexible approach to learning, we provide structure, academic support, and individualized guidance needed to keep education moving forward without asking students to give up the pursuits that matter to them.
